chef’s compliment – this small paste on a crumb of bread had lots & lots of taste

our ANTIPASTI e INSALATE was the Carpaccio di filetto con confettura di fichi -

thin slices of natural black angus beef filet, cocoa balsamic reduction, fig preserves

I had the Gnocchi ai funghi e parmigiano tartufato made by owner’s Italian mother -

tumeric potato gnocchi, porcini mushroom, truffle-parmesan sauce, arugula, long pepper

my babe had the “Trilogia” - tasting of three classic Roman pastas: tagliolini carbonara, rigatoni amatriciana, tonnarelli cacio e pepe, chiaroscuro’s signature pastas. I think these pastas were the one of the best pastas I ever had in my life mmm

PARIS, May 2010.

Last year when I needed to relax and get myself together, I visited Morro Bay. Spending sometime here alone definitely recharged my soul. Enjoy the music & photos.

* I purposely didn’t want to finish up writing my journey entry … but time is closing by and I think it’s time to end it … if you don’t remember what I did on Day 13 click it *

My last day itinerary: Venice -> Munchen, Germany -> Frankfurt, Germany

It rained all morning and since my train was at 10:50 PM … I decided to sleep in and check out from my hotel at 12:00 noon

I know, taking pictures with pigeons are fun … but do they know how much germs they are carrying? :p

I went to a local photography exhibitions by Italian photographers. Their works are definitely different from American photographers in its contents and expressions.

Since I traveled alone, I didn’t get to ride in the gondola- hopefully my next visit will be with someone

Walking around without a place to stay (since I checked out from the hotel) was a nightmare …

My last dinner in Italy … a vongole pasta (I think I can make this with no problem hehe)

This was around 10:00 PM … after checking out from my hotel – 10 hours went by very slow and tiring. These were my two luggages that I traveled with for last 14 days … my co-workers bought me an awesome laptop bag but right before I left Los Angeles, I wasn’t able to fit everything in that bag … so I had to change it to my filson briefcase …

The worst train I rode in Europe

Still 50 minutes to wait … by this time I was almost dying from fatigue

Train left at 10:50 PM – arrived in Muenchen, Germany 6:30 AM … I wasn’t able to sleep … it was pure hell : (

After 7 hours and 40 minutes of an agonizing Italian train ride – I finally arrived in Germany and transferred to a modernized German engineered train…

but I was still dead tired …

At the end … I finally arrived in Frankfurt, Germany. 10:25 AM – by this moment I was awake for last 25 hours straight!

Another bad news, my airplane to Korea left at 8:00 PM … meaning I had to wait another 10 hours at the Frankfurt airport. I felt like Tom Hanks from the movie “Terminal” I was homeless and was awake for last 35 hours. Luckily there was a shower booth at the airport so I was able to clean up. By the time I was seating in the airplane to Korea, I was rushed with mixed emotions. Last 15 days was truly amazing … if I have the chance to do it again, I will do it in a heart beat … but next time – I don’t want to do it by myself … I had enough of solitude traveling… I don’t want to finish up writing this entry … feel like it’s the end … NO~! Well, I want to put it this way – It’s not the END but AND … my story will continue …
